The method, in public

There is no trick to this. There is a method.

Everything below is public. If you would rather do it yourself, the instructions are here and we mean that sincerely.

1One

The questions.

We start by writing down what your buyers actually ask. Not search terms. Questions, in full sentences, the way a person types when they are talking to something that answers back. "Who is the most reliable supplier of this in the north of England." "What should I look for when choosing one of these." "Is this company any good."

Thirty to fifty of them, agreed with you before we begin, because the question set is the thing everything is later measured against. If we chose it afterwards we could make any result look like a success, and so could anybody else.

2Two

The baseline.

Every question, put to every major assistant, repeated across a window of several weeks rather than asked once. AI answers move. A single reading is a rumour. An average across a month is a measurement.

What comes back is a verified percentage: the share of those answers in which you were named. That figure is the exact benchmark we will later ask you to judge us on.

3Three

The source map.

The assistants do not invent their answers. They draw them from a surprisingly small set of places, and the set is different for every industry. We trace yours. In most categories it turns out to be a handful of directories, a few publications nobody in your business reads, two or three roundup articles written years ago and a forum thread from 2023.

This is usually the moment the room goes quiet. Almost nobody expects the list to be that short, or that ordinary.

4Four

The work.

Then we go and get you into those places. Listings claimed and corrected. Editors approached with something genuinely worth publishing. Roundups updated. Comparison pages given accurate information about you. Research produced under your name, because original data is cited by these systems several times more often than ordinary articles. Real participation in the places your buyers already gather.

Underneath it, we make sure your own site can actually be read: your answers where an assistant can find them, your specifications as text rather than trapped in a PDF, your details identical everywhere they appear. That part is table stakes. It is not the strategy.

5Five

The score.

Every ninety days we run the same questions, the same way, and tell you what changed. One page. If it went down we will tell you it went down and what we think happened.

Without an objective scoreboard, every agency claims success. We establish a verified baseline before any work begins, and agree to be measured against the exact same test condition every quarter.

If you would rather run this yourself, take it. We would consider that a good outcome.
